Hello My Name Is...

Angela Ashburn

For 31 years, the community and students in Royal Oak have been a part of my life. I am excited to continue to learn and grow in my role as Interim Principal at Royal Oak High School.

It is a privilege to have this opportunity to serve a school with awesome students, an extremely committed staff, and a supportive school community. I have been a dedicated educator for more than thirty years. I graduated from Madonna University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. My desire to become an administrator led me to continue my graduate studies at Madonna University, earning my K-12 Administration Certificate and master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Prior to accepting the role as Interim Principal, I had the pleasure of working as the ECC Supervisor at Addams, Principal of Northwood Elementary, Assistant Principal at ROHS and as Biology teacher at Kimball. 

On a personal note, my husband Jerry and I have been married for 38 years and have an amazing daughter that works as a nurse practitioner in the area of oncology. We love spending time in Lake Leelanau and Traverse City in the summer and visiting our daughter in Denver. I also enjoy reading,  going to concerts, and spending time with friends and family. 

I look forward to partnering with the Royal Oak community this school year.
