This year ROHS is offering HAVEN’s Consent Training for high school seniors. HAVEN’s Consent Training program will occur during the school day and is designed to support young adults in the development of safe relationships by providing information to increase understanding of ethical/affirmative consent, effective bystander techniques, and how to respond and support a friend who has experienced sexual violence. The curriculum will be presented by skilled Prevention Education Specialists. Haven will be presenting to our 12th-grade students in February during the school day.

If you DO NOT want your 12th-grade child to participate in HAVEN’s Consent Training, please email [email protected] by February 3 to OPT-OUT.

HAVEN CONSENT TRAINING - Non-Gender Specific Session

We recognize that some students may feel more comfortable in a non-gender specific group and we will be hosting an additional session on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 9:00 am. If you would like to attend the non-gender-specific session, please fill out this FORM.

*Note: students will need to be signed into their RO student account to submit the form.

As a reminder, MiStar is the official gradebook and Parent(s)/Guardian(s) can go to the MiStar Parent Portal to see up-to-date grades for their child. If you have any questions about your child's progress or would like to meet with your child's teacher, please connect with them directly to schedule a conference time. (ROHS Staff Directory)

Scheduling for the 2023-2024 school year is well underway. The opportunity to review your child’s course requests for next school year will begin in February. However, please begin talking with your child about the courses they selected. In addition, if your child has any questions about course offerings, ROHS counselors will be meeting individually with students in the upcoming weeks. Please note that there will be multiple opportunities for parents/guardians to review schedules.

We know that drop-off and pick-up can be difficult with everyone's busy schedules. With a few hundred students who are coming to and leaving school during a very short turnaround time of 10 - 15 minutes, we need to ensure safety. In order to do this in a safe and efficient manner, it is imperative that all families respect and follow the designated drop-off and pick-up location.

One of the greatest and growing areas of concern is the practice of families dropping students off in the circle drive (Lexington/Crooks). This is an area for buses onlyWe will be working with RO Police Officers to help reinforce this No Parking/Drop off Zone. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Your continued and consistent help is needed. While having family discussions, we ask that you partner with us to speak out against vaping. Collectively we can do this. Our goal is to change this negative behavior occurring around our great school (especially in the bathrooms). Together WE can make a difference. OUR entire school community will be better because of this work. Thank you so much in advance for your efforts. OUR kids will love us for it!

ROHS is pleased to join the ADL in the NO PLACE FOR HATE campaign. As partners in this student driven commitment, ROHS's pledge is to:

  • Try at all times to be aware of bias and seek to understand those perceived different from others
  • Reach out to support those who are targets of hate
  • Think of specific ways to promote respect for people and create a prejudice free zone
  • Speak out against all forms of prejudice and discrimination

Parent(s)/Guardian(s) can complete the ECF Chromebook Request Form in order to get a Chromebook for a student. Please make sure to read the request/commitment form carefully. Chromebooks will be delivered to ROHS toward the end of each week.

Please visit the District Technology Website for additional information and support. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Hermon ([email protected])

ROHS will offer free math tutoring provided by the math department for any ROHS student enrolled in: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Daily Math Tutoring Schedule.

Credit Recovery is an opportunity for students to make up credit for graduation. Classes are $200 per class. Credit Recovery meets Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in the Learning Commons from 3:15 - 5:15 each week. Please see the attached link for sign up information.

Royal Oak High School has created an ROHS Canvas Community page/course. This page houses different resources which includes, but is not limited to support contacts, wellness resources, career and testing information, scholarships and counseling information. Canvas works in conjunction with MiStar. On your student’s schedule you’ll notice it’s 10th period. Students do not need to do anything for this page/course. It is another way to give students the resources that they need.
