Senior Honors Convocation - Mark Your Calendar


Royal Oak High School will host its Annual Honors Convocation on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Royal Oak Middle School (Dondero Auditorium). This is an evening to celebrate student accomplishments. If your child is being recognized, you will receive an invitation this week. If your child is being honored please save the date and remind them to go directly to the gathering area at ROMS at 6:30 P.M. on 5/21 wearing their graduation gown (no cap).   • Monday, May 20th, hours 4, 5, 6(All grades, including 12th graders, attend full day regular class time schedule)
  • Tuesday, May 21st, hours 1, 2, 3(½ day for 12th graders only & Senior Meeting in the PM).


Class of 2024: if you have not done so already, please complete the postsecondary plans survey! As we inch closer to the end of the school year, it is important for the counseling team to gather data regarding your plans following high school. ALL seniors must complete the Senior Exit Survey prior to their departure on May 21st.

Michigan high school seniors have the chance to follow their dreams AND win free pizza for a year,* just by filling out the newly simplified FAFSA by June 30, 2024. Steps below.

  1. Create FSA ID’s (both student and parent)

  2. Fill out the FAFSA form together. (It’s only 36 questions, no essay required!)

  3. Text FAFSA to 844-34-PIZZA.

We’ll just need your full name, email and mailing address. That’s it! Then, you’ll get your entry confirmation and a link to the full contest rules. Already completed the FAFSA? You’re still eligible. Just text FAFSA to 844-34-PIZZA to enter.

The Class of 2024 Senior All Night Party will be at Emagine Theatre in Royal Oak on Thursday, May 30 with check in to begin at 11pm, party ending at 5:00 am. The cost is $75 as of February 1st.

Senior Movie Vote


Could you benefit from increasing your academic skills to fully prepare for college level coursework? OCC’s College Jumpstart Programwill allow students to take one three-credit college course to enhance academic performance, increase self-confidence, and successfully transition to college.

  • The Jumpstart Program is offered from July 8 - August 8 on OCC’s Auburn Hills Campus. Tuition is free to Oakland County residents who have earned a high school diploma/GED by the program start date and have not previously attended college classes.
  • Students Will Gain the Tools to Succeed in College.During this five-week program students will receive these benefits: a free Chromebook, $700 scholarship for the Fall 2024 semester at OCC, free course materials, lunch provided daily, financial aid and admissions assistance, campus tours, career counseling.
